A Big Week in Beautiful Altadena
Beautiful Altadena Talks, Last Chance to be Heard on the Fire Alerts Investigation, The Concert for Beautiful Altadena is this Weekend & Unveiling a Mural
Hello friends. It’s a big week for Beautiful Altadena, and we’ve got a lot to share and catch up on. Whether you’re just tuning in or you’ve been with us a while — thank you. Here’s what’s happening now and what’s coming up.
TONIGHT: The Beautiful Altadena Talks Series

TONIGHT: Wednesday, April 30
Topic: The Foothill Catalog
Speaker: Cynthia Sigler, AIA, Co-Founder of The Foothill Catalog
→ Watch the Recording
Tonight we hosted the first talk in our new BA Talks series, and we were excited to begin with a conversation with The Foothill Catalog, where they’re at, their new partnership with Habitat for Humanity. This was a great follow up to the conversation we started at the Unique Market event back in March.
NEXT WEEK: Wednesday, May 7 | 6PM
Topic: Our Soil After the Fire
Speaker: Parker Davis of Hardy Californians
→ RSVP & Submit a Question
We’ll dig into natural soil remediation, post-fire land care, and how to support local ecology while rebuilding. Bring your questions.
LAST CHANCE: Eaton Fire Community Listening Session
Saturday, May 3 | 11:00AM – 1:30PM
Location: First AME Church Pasadena
This is the second — and final — In Person Community Listening Session related to the Eaton Fire alerts and evacuation investigation. ICYMI, the sentiment about how the evacuation has been critical, to say the least.
The first session was eye-opening: some attendees felt investigators were hearing public criticism for the first time.
That alone is reason to show up and share your story.
We must speak loudly and clearly about what Altadena went through — and how we were (or weren’t) supported.
→ They ask that you RSVP but you attend even if you do not. Can’t attend in person? Please take a moment to share your experience via their survey.

We can’t wait to share it with you. Catch a sneak peek at the concert and follow Austin on Instagram for the latest.
LOOKING AHEAD: ARISE – Community Survey Findings
Keep an eye out in May as The Future Organization shares the results of the Altadena Resident Survey — an in-depth community response effort we helped circulate after the fire. We’ll break it all down once the full findings are public.
Next Time…
That’s it for today’s Dispatch — we’ll be back soon with more, including a guide to local businesses in need of support. Thank you for being part of this place.
Wherever you’re reading from, stay well and stay tuned.
